BulkMail
Peak InfoSystems, Inc.
$50
#27688/1726
makes preparing bulk mail faster and easier. A template lets you repeat fixed
information without having to re-type it for each record. BulkMail marks the
labels so you'll know, without counting, when to tie off a bundle of letters.
It lets select records to be printed on the basis of a starting name, an
ending name, a starting zip code, an ending zip code, a starting date, an
ending date, two flags, an alphanumeric category field, and a group of sixteen
switches in each record that may be used in any combination to select or
reject records.
One of Bulkmail's printing options allows you to create a data file that
can be used with MicroPro International's MailMerge form letter feature, as well
as with the merge letter features of a number of other good word processors.
It will also let you import and export mailing lists, purge a subset of
records, check for duplicates, and define label format.

and very easy to use.
Zipkey 2.04e
Isaacson, Eric, ASP
$30
#27363/1738 (10-93 CD)
allows instant access to any of the more than 43,000 zipcodes in its complete
city-level directory of five-digit U.S. zip codes. In the non-resident mode,
you can search by zip, by state and city, or by city only. In the resident
pop-up mode, you can be in a word processor or mailing list program or
database program, and when you enter a zip code, ZipKey will automatically
insert the city name, state name or abbreviation, and any other fixed
keystrokes you specify in any format you wish. The database can be loaded
into DOS RAM, in which case ZipKey will take about 148k, or left on disk or
put in EMS memory, in which case it will take only 19k of DOS RAM. It also
provides the telephone area code for each of over 30,000 cities in its
database.
The zip code database has been extensively checked for accuracy and compressed
to save space. Installation and use is very easy, the price is reasonable and
it doesn't take much RAM. What's not to love?. We consider this a must-have
for anyone who has to enter addresses into any kind of program.
ZipAsc

is a text file listing United States zip codes with City and State for each in

any international country in addition to weight limits for each type of mail
class. International express service is shown when available for a given country

required.
Pony Express
Melisco Marketing, Inc.
$50

markup/markdown, networks, transaction logging, an electronic scale interface,
UPS delivery confirmation, and UPS 2nd-day air letter. The program is very
fast and easy to use and can be used in a pop-up or stand-alone mode.
James Schmidt, Sunnyvale, CA: "I installed this program and three days
later when I try to use the program I received the message "Your trial
period is up, you need to install for further evaluation". It then
stops...."
PsL: We installed the program ran it a few times, then changed the
system date four days ahead and re-ran the program without difficulty.
We have not had anyone else report this problem, but we will add these
comments to warn others of the possibility.
UPS Rate Master 6.11
Kacmarcik, John G. Jr.
$30
#27364/1416
will give you the rates of ground or air delivery for the United Parcel
Service. It will tell you the maximum weight and size of packages permitted

B&B Mail
Bolda, Bob
$45
#27206/1138
is a powerful mailing list program that can print labels on from 1-across to
any number across. It can import names and addresses from other data files or
export them to other programs. Printouts of data can be selected based on
Codes and/or Zip and/or Customer Numbers or you can elect to sort just a
select group of records or just the records you see. Sorting and searching can
be done on any field or combination of fields. A return address can be printed
on mailing labels that are large enough. (See PSL Computer Products for 4"x2"
laser labels.)
B&B checks for duplicate entries. Layout of labels can be user-defined. Search
and replace is included. You can select which fields are to be used for
duplicate checking. City, state and country can now be automatically entered
based on the zip code you enter. A Country field is also included. Requires a
hard disk. (Note: this program uses the name "Flexi-Label" for one of its
modules. FlexLabel is a trademark of Ford Software and is not related to the
module in this package.)
CBase
Gillingham, Dan
$?
#27206/775
is an excellent Customer Data Base, name and address, mailing list program.
It is easy to use and just a generally attractive and well-written program.
Suggestions to the author: the documentation needs a paragraph at the
beginning that states the purpose of the program as well as a list of its main
features are. Also, the name fields are a little short and a suffix field
(for "M.D.", "PhD", etc) is needed. And it's been our experience that two
lines for the address are frequently not enough; company name, department
name, building number, floor, suite number, and box number are often used in
different combinations that require more than two lines.
DMail 5.1
TeleMedica, ASP
$40
#27206/1197
is a mailing list that is limited only by disk space. It can sort on any of
nine fields, copy data from one address file to another, encrypt data, check
for duplicates, create mailmerge files for WordPerfect, MS Word and WordStar.
It prints on most printers on one-across or two-across labels, one to 99
copies of each label. Works with dBase III files. Bar codes can be
printed with an HP LaserJet II.
Doctor Data File 6.5 [DDFILE65] (08-93 CD)
Weber, Mike
$54
#27206/1167
is a general purpose database manager as well as a mailing list manager.
Features include CAR-RT SORT mailing; user-definable custom label
formats; index up to five fields; import and export capabilities.
postcards, envelopes, rolodex cards or up to nine-across labels.
Complete control is allowed in designing labels, form letters and master
lists, including the ability to change printer fonts by word or line and
to print up to nine-across on any size label, post card, index card,
rolodex card, etc. It has the capacity to hold one billion records per
database, five indexes, and a 47,000+ city, state and zip code database.
It does not allow non-U.S. formats for zip codes nor telephone numbers.
Other than that, the data fields appear to be exceptionally well thought
out.
Among other features, the program allows complete international mailing
and supports laser and sheet-feed printers. When printing bulk labels
for presort mailings, every time the first five digits of the zip code
changes, a label will be printed stating how many labels were printed
for the last zip code. This feature should save considerable time in
bundling mail.
A "carry-over" feature allows data in individual fields to be carried
over to the next record, such as city, state and zip code. An optional
Carrier Route Presort number helps save on postage. Other features
include optional greeting messages to be printed above company name or
individual name; search for duplicate records and account numbers; data
entry filters to pre-screen the type of data entered; case sensitive or
insensitive searches for all or part of fields; global data replacement;
global upper/lower case conversion; import/export files in ASCII
delimited, dBase III, SDF or delimited ("1-2-3") formats; definable
printer control codes and label format and size controls; mail merge
with built-in editor.

is a mailing list program with mail-merge capabilities. It makes good use of
colors, allows full-screen data entry, doesn't overburden the user with menus,

apartment numbers, and possibly a country field.
MailAll has a label print menu and prints envelopes and reports, plus a label
data save option which will let you avoid re-entering the setup data each
time. File names of up to 64 characters long make files easier to remember and
